Luke 10:29-37, Matthew 25:31-46, 2 Corinthians 5:17-20

This week we will consider what it looks like for our enjoyment of Jesus to lead us to engage our neighbor with the love of God in authentic and caring relationships. To engage means to occupy, attract, or involve someone’s attention, and to participate or become involved in. How do we occupy, attract, or involve someone’s attention with the love of God? How do we help them to participate or become involved in the love of God? We do this through authentic and caring relationships, through words and actions shared in the lives of those around us. Jesus outlined this in the parable of the Good Samaritan and his words about doing things unto the least of these. Paul also underscores this through the ministry of reconciliation that all followers of Jesus share. This week we’ll look at some Old Testament prophets and then at the New Testament church to see how enjoying Jesus flows into engaging our neighbor with God’s love.
