Freedom
DEVOTIONAL
One of the great blessings of placing our faith in Jesus is that it allows us to walk in freedom. Knowing who God is, and who we are, gives us confidence to be our own unique self. When we understand and trust the power that lies within us, we can resist the pressures of the world trying to conform us to its ways. When we know the truth of this world, and the One who is true, we have courage to bring the will and kingdom of God to earth. When we are intimately connected with our Savior and Lord, we have the strength to stand against all the dark schemes of the evil one.
2 Corinthians 3:17 - Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
John 8:32 – “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Galatians 5:13 - For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
While our natural tendency is to walk in fear, when we are relying on the power of the Holy Spirit, God’s Word and prayer, we are able to walk in freedom instead. Freedom comes from knowing, trusting, and living with the Power of the Spirit. Freedom comes from knowing, trusting, and living in the truth of God’s Word. Freedom comes from knowing, trusting and living in prayerful intimacy with Jesus.
PRAYER
Thank You Jesus, for calling me to a life of freedom. Help me to rely more fully on the power of Your Spirit. Help me to know and trust the truth of Your Word. Help me to be drawn into deeper intimacy in regular times of prayer. Build my faith in You and reveal Yourself to me so I can know and trust You more. Inspire and direct the steps of my life so that I might walk in freedom. Amen
