Enjoying Jesus Day 3

Walk By Faith

DEVOTIONAL

The life of a Christian is one that is not only initiated by faith but is lived by faith. We don’t just trust Jesus for our eternal life, we are to trust him with every day of our life. Walking by faith means we place every aspect of our life at the feet of Jesus. We allow Jesus to direct and transform our career, our finances, our location, our friends, our family, our future, our thoughts, our words, our behaviors, and everything else. We give Jesus full access and full authority to align every aspect of our life with His will. By doing so we express our trust that Jesus loves us and that His plan for our life is vastly better than our own.

Prov. 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Romans 8:15 - For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

The greatest challenge in walking by faith is our own selfish desires to control our lives and do things our way. Our past wounds cause us to be hesitant to trust anyone and even spark strong emotional reactions against giving control to Jesus. Our tendency is to think we are the only ones capable of protecting ourselves, no matter how illogical it is. If we are going

to walk by faith, we will need to resist our natural tendencies, silence the emotional upheaval, and willingly give control of our life to Jesus. But we can praise the Lord, that as hard as it is to do such things, the Holy Spirit lives within us and will empower us to do it.

PRAYER

Dear Jesus, thank You so much for all You’ve done for me and for proving how much You really love me by dying on the cross for me. I know You are good and have good plans for me. My hearts desire is to surrender every area of my life to You, but it is not easy to do. Help me to trust You. Come and transform my life as You see fit. Amen
